Energy production refers to the process of getting energy from nature. People harvest fuels and flows from nature (see fuels vs. flows for more information). The chart below shows how much of each different source a country harvests from nature before importing, exporting or converting energy into various energy currencies. Note how the harvesting of energy changes dramatically by country and by year.[1]
