Raisebore mining method

Revision as of 21:31, 26 August 2015 by J.williams (talk | contribs) (1 revision imported)

The raisebore mining method is an underground mining method to obtain ore, in which a horizontal underground shaft is built below the deposit. A revolving drill called a reaming head is input vertically into the deposit which knocks the ore loose and allows it to fall into a collecting vehicle. The uranium is then processed into a liquid slurry in order to pump it up to the surface. The video below (from Cameco, a uranium mining company) shows the process involved in the raisebore mining method for uranium.[1]
